God's Plan

 God has a plan for YOU.

Though Andy Warhol promised us all 15 minutes of fame, now accessible to be doled out in 30-second reels, Christ the Lord guarantees Eternal Life and forgiveness for our sins.

While it has been said before, there are still those whom the Good News has not reached; and perhaps even more who have heard the Word & rejected, dismissed or doubted; and countless souls indoctrinated in the Faith have gone astray, tempted by the liberality of our modern culture, or dismayed by the hypocrisy, real or perceived, of the churches, institutions, preachers, and parents who attempted to force belief upon them.

I did not grow up in a religious household myself, and found God in many strange and unexpected places along a twisting journey that left me exposed to many errors in my understanding, as well as discouragement and disbelief from friends and family. The basic Truth and the essentials of Faith, however, I knew with certainty at least 20 years ago; and yet time and again I have turned my back on His light, in despair, in pride of my own wisdom, in selfish pleasure, and not least of all to fit in with this world and especially those I love. 

But, "A just man shall fall seven times and shall rise again." (Proverbs, 24:16)

After forsaking the Beatific Salvation I found, I know I do not deserve to have been given this one more chance. Therefore I am certain it was not merely for my own benefit that I have been "lifted up again by the Lord," to quote Van Morrison; but rather, to provide light for others to see by, and help them in their journey.

God's plan for me involves loving my family first and foremost. However, they do not always have the time to listen to all that is on my mind and in my heart. Due to this lonely condition of modern life I have often shared my thoughts on various blogs before. Some of these have promoted drunkenness and Pagan mythology, political cynicism, and other shortcomings for which I now feel burdened at having placed as a stumbling block to my (admittedly few) readers. 

As part of my penance and in trying to fulfill my mission to help enlighten mankind, I hope this blog will find many more readers than the others. But even if my vanity to be known and have influence over the minds of others is dashed, if I can help just one soul on the journey to God, whether they are just starting out, looking for the strength to get back up after a stumble, or in need of some clarification on a specific point, then the wish of my heart is fulfilled and you, Beloved Reader, have given me cause to smile for all time. 

And so, wherever we may be at this moment in time, let us walk together:

Man cannot be God

 But God may become Man. His will be done, on earth as in Heaven. The Holy Spirit may move through whomever It pleaseth, speaking Truth until it moves on to another host, leaving us at a loss for words, momentarily breathless but, let us pray: not as the dead. For we live in Christ.
